What is Panchamrita?
Panchamrita (from Sanskrit पञ्च pancha = five, अमृत amrita = nectar/immortality) is a sacred mixture of five liquids used in Hindu puja, especially for bathing (Abhisheka) the deity's murti or Shivalinga, and then distributed as Prasad. Each element carries specific spiritual significance.

How Panchamrita Becomes Prasad
- The five ingredients are mixed in a vessel (Panchamrita patra)
- The mixture is used to bathe the deity (Abhisheka) while chanting mantras
- The Abhisheka liquid collects in the base — this is Charnamrit (feet nectar)
- The remaining mixture is distributed as Panchamrita Prasad to devotees
