✨ Bhasma (Sacred Ash)
Sacred ash types, preparation methods, and spiritual significance
What is Bhasma?
Bhasma (भस्म) or Vibhuti (विभूति) is sacred ash used in Hindu worship, especially by Shaivas. It is the body of Shiva himself. Prepared by burning purified cow dung or sacred materials in a ritual fire, bhasma represents the ultimate truth — everything returns to ash. When applied to the body, it purifies and protects.
Types of Bhasma
• Gobar Bhasma (Cow Dung)
• Homa Bhasma (Yagna Ash)
